About the guide
Hello! My name is Leandro and I’m a freelance journalist and a tour guide. I was born in Brazil so I make part of 47.5% foreign-born population currently living in Toronto. I’m here for about six years now, since I first came to finish a post-grad in sports journalism. So what you got is a multicultural guide to a multicultural city. 🙂
Background
While I’m not taking people around Toronto, I work mostly for multi-sports events such as Pan American Games, Olympic Games, and FIFA World Cup. Last year I had the opportunity to publish my first non-fiction book, Portuguese-named “A Sombra de Gigantes“, the result of a 50-day trip through European football stadiums. I started working as a tour-guide right after been to several of these walking tours. It’s not just because is easier to get to know a city, but also a story-telling adventure.
Toronto is always changing and growing. Every time I’ll go on a walking tour in Toronto, I’m also learning something new. This is what I love the most about the city that I proudly call my home today.
